but these mountains
welcome us.

A congregation of ancestors
holding our hearts
in each rock and limb.

Scrambling,
we pick our way
over the shed skins of doing.

The trees listen, whispering
ancient wisdom.
The birds sing, awakening
the soul.

Here, held in the mountain’s
love, there is so much yet to discover.
